PitDay — the long-cook planning companion for iOS, iPadOS & watchOS
The short version
- We collect nothing that identifies you. PitDay has no accounts, no sign-up, and no ads.
- The app sends anonymous usage events — such as "a plan was created" — to help us improve PitDay. These events contain no name, no contact details, no location, and nothing you type.
- If you contact us through in-app feedback, we receive what you send us (your message, and your email address only if you choose to include one).
- Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.
- Your cooking plans and history live only on your device. Delete the app, and they're gone.
- We never sell, rent, or share data for advertising, and we don't track you across apps or websites.
1Who we are
This privacy policy applies to PitDay, a mobile application (including its iOS app, watchOS companion app, widgets, and Live Activities), published and operated by NeoSura ("NeoSura", "we", "us"). Throughout this policy, "you" means the person using PitDay.
We designed PitDay so that it works fully offline and doesn't need an account. That design choice shapes everything in this policy: there is no profile to create, no identity to hand over, and nothing about PitDay's data practices is tied to who you are.
2What we collect
2.1 Anonymous usage events
When you use PitDay, the app sends a small number of anonymous events to a logging service operated by NeoSura. These events help us understand which features are used, spot reliability problems, and decide what to improve. Each event includes:
- the event name (for example, app launched, plan created, cook finished);
- basic technical context: app version, device model (for example, "iPhone"), and operating system version;
- for some events, a few general attributes of the cooking task itself, such as the type of cut, cooking method, appliance, food weight, or a timing deviation in minutes; and
- a random identifier generated by the app and stored only on your device, used to count distinct installations. It is not your Apple ID, not your device's serial number, not an advertising identifier, and it cannot be connected to you or your identity by us or by anyone else.
Usage events never include your name or contact details, your precise or approximate location, anything you type into the app (such as notes), or the contents of your cooking plans beyond the general attributes listed above.
2.2 Feedback you send us
PitDay includes an optional feedback form. If you choose to use it, we receive:
- the text of your message;
- your email address, only if you type one in (it's optional — we ask for it solely so we can reply); and
- technical metadata attached automatically to help us reproduce problems: app version and build, operating system version, device model, device language, time zone, and the same random installation identifier described above.
Feedback is submitted over an encrypted connection to a feedback service operated on our behalf by a service provider (see §5). We use feedback only to respond to you, fix problems, and improve PitDay.
2.3 Purchases
PitDay may offer optional one-time purchases (such as unlocking PitDay Pro), processed entirely by Apple as part of the App Store. We never receive your name, payment card details, or billing address. The app receives an anonymous confirmation from Apple's StoreKit framework that a purchase is active, so it can unlock the corresponding features on your device. For completeness: our anonymous usage events include an event recording that a purchase started or succeeded — with no payment or identity information attached.
3What we never collect or do
Regardless of any settings on your device, PitDay never:
- requires or creates an account;
- shows advertising, and shares nothing with ad networks, data brokers, or analytics SDKs;
- collects your name, address, phone number, or contacts;
- collects your location (precise or approximate), photos, health data, or financial data;
- collects advertising identifiers (such as IDFA);
- tracks you across other companies' apps or websites; or
- sells, rents, or trades any data for monetary or other compensation.
4Data stored on your device
Everything you create in PitDay — cooking plans, cook history, adjustments, settings, and Pro status — is stored locally on your device using Apple's standard on-device storage. It is not uploaded to us or to any server.
If you delete PitDay, that data is deleted with it. There is no server copy. If you reinstall, you can restore an eligible purchase through Apple's App Store mechanisms, but your cooking history cannot be recovered, because we never received it.
5Third-party services
PitDay contains no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. The only parties that ever receive data described in this policy are:
| Party | Role | What's involved |
|---|---|---|
| Apple | App distribution & payments | The App Store distributes PitDay; Apple processes any purchase under your Apple ID. If your device asks whether to share crash/diagnostic reports with developers, Apple handles that collection under Apple's privacy policy — it is not controlled by us. |
| NeoSura | Logging service | We operate the endpoint that receives the anonymous usage events described in §2.1. |
| Feedback service provider | Processor for feedback | A service provider (myopcs) stores feedback submissions on our behalf so we can read and respond to them. It receives only what you submit plus the technical metadata described in §2.2. |
We don't permit these parties to use the data described here for their own purposes.
6Cookies & tracking
PitDay contains no ads and no cross-app tracking, so industry opt-out signals such as "Do Not Track" require no action from us — there is simply nothing to track with. This web page sets no cookies. On iOS, you can also confirm in Settings → Privacy → Tracking that PitDay has never asked to track you, because it never will.
7Your rights & legal bases
EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland (GDPR). The anonymous usage events described in §2.1 are not linked to you and are not intended to identify you; as anonymous data, they fall outside the scope of personal data under the GDPR. For the data that can be personal:
- Feedback (including optional email) — processed on the basis of your consent, given when you voluntarily submit the form and provide your details; you can withdraw it at any time by asking us to delete your feedback (§13).
- Purchases — the purchase contract is between you and Apple; we process only the anonymous confirmation needed to unlock features, on the basis of legitimate interest in providing the product you bought.
Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection regarding your personal data. Because we hold no data that identifies you, most of these rights have nothing to attach to — we couldn't find "your" usage events even if you asked, and we designed it that way on purpose. For feedback, we can honor erasure directly: email us and we'll delete your submission (including any email address it contains). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8California privacy rights
CCPA/CPRA. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined by California law, and PitDay is not directed at collecting personal information of any kind. The anonymous usage events described in §2.1 are not personal information because they are not linked to you and we cannot reasonably link them to you. California residents may email support@neosura.com with any questions; there is no personal information for us to disclose, correct, or delete beyond feedback you've submitted (which we'll delete on request).
CalOPPA. California law requires us to explain how we respond to "Do Not Track" signals: because PitDay does not track its users across third-party websites or services, and contains no advertising, DNT and similar signals have no effect on PitDay — there is no tracking to opt out of.
9Children's privacy
PitDay is a general-audience cooking tool and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children — and given the practices described in this policy, we couldn't identify a child (or an adult) even if one used the app. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through feedback, contact us and we will delete it.
10Data retention & security
Retention. We keep anonymous usage events only as long as they serve the purposes in §2.1 (understanding feature usage and reliability), after which they are deleted or retained in aggregated, non-identifiable form. Feedback is kept until we have responded and resolved it, after which we may delete it — earlier if you ask. Data stored on your device (§4) lasts exactly as long as the app does.
Security. Data described in this policy is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Because we never receive identifying information, the practical blast radius of any incident is minimal by design: there are no user profiles to leak. Access to logs and feedback is restricted to the people who operate PitDay.
11International data handling
We operate from the United States, and the services described in §5 may process data in countries other than your own, whose data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. Because the usage events we receive are anonymous and do not identify you, they are not subject to cross-border transfer restrictions that apply to personal data. Any feedback you submit is transferred at your direction when you choose to send it, under the safeguards described in this policy.
12Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version at this URL with a new effective date. If a change is material — for example, if a future version of PitDay were ever to collect anything that identifies you (which would be a departure from the practices described here) — we will make that clear in the app's release notes before the change takes effect, and update the App Store privacy label to match.
